Description:

Speech included in letter of Sir William Johnson. Header: Fort Johnson July 21, 1758 . Sir William Johnson's speech to the Delaware Indians living on the Ohio and those parts, sent this day by Joseph Peppy, a Delaware Indian. Johnson said he had sent several messages and belts of wampum to urge the Delaware to come back to the Susquehanna--did you get them? The Cayugas and Cherokee had done the same. Johnson was sending a belt for the last time--please come back. Peter Wraxall attested to the accuracy of the document.
